Growing up with BT: A Parents’ Guide to Safety and Keeping in Touch (1996)

This pamphlet for parents was jointly produced by BT and Kidscape, a UK charity for child protection. It focuses on children’s safety when using phones. The guide included phrases that children could use if they answered the landline telephone when they were at home alone, and advised parents to talk to children about hoax or obscene phone calls. It also advertised EasyReach Pagers as a way for children to keep in touch with parents, and emphasised the pager’s function that allowed coded messages to be sent.
